Tilda rice has landed in Finland, offering consumers premium basmati rice for the first time, which has been on the international market for more than 50 years and is sold in more than 50 countries.
The popularity of high quality rice has been growing in Finland for a few years. Consumers like aromatic rice, because they have the advantage of a short cooking time of only about ten minutes.
Born in the UK, Tilda is a multicultural rice brand known for its exceptionally aromatic products. The Thakrar family left Uganda for the UK in the hope of a better future in 1970. No familiar rice was found in the new homeland, so the family decided to start importing it. They were the first in the West to introduce authentic basmati rice.
Tilda is located near London along the River Thames, where a variety of rice is ground, steamed, polished and packaged. The grinding process is unique, which guarantees the grains their unique taste. There are three products in the selection of Finnish stores: Tilda Basmati rice, Tilda Whole grain basmati rice and Tilda Jasmine rice.
