Conaxess Trade enter agreement with Cooper Consumer Health International

Conaxess Trade have entered an agreement with Cooper Consumer Health International (CCHI) to take over responsibility for the sale, marketing, and distribution of their over-the-counter products across the Nordics. CCHI are the third-largest player dedicated to over-the-counter products in Europe after their acquisition of Viatris Inc.’s over-the-counter portfolio.

This is a groundbreaking agreement and an alliance which advances two different sectors. Entrusting over-the-counter healthcare products to the sale, marketing, and distribution customs of the fast-moving consumer goods sector has great potential for both industries for the future: CCHI leave their brands in the hands of fast-paced local sales and marketing specialists with a broad reach across Nordic groceries as well as pharmacies. Conaxess Trade gain a stronger foothold in pharmacies and related specialty trade and expands into a wider category and channel coverage.

“We’re excited to start working with CCHI and very pleased with the partnership so far. We believe we will see more and more of the over-the-counter sector teaming up with sales, marketing, and distribution partners with FMCG backgrounds, and together with CCHI, we’re at the forefront of this revolution,” says Jens Gjedrem, Nordic CEO of Conaxess Trade. “We have already proven that we have created an adaptable and flexible operating model, and with our FMCG background, we’ve been able to move quickly and efficiently to set up a new business unit and secure all necessary regulatory requirements.”

“We selected Conaxess Trade following a diligent partner selection process,” Payam Dadgar, Senior Vice President for International Markets at CCHI, explains. “Conaxess Trade’s commitment to outperformance and customer satisfaction aligns with our company values.  We have benefitted from their significant experience in onboarding partners, and together, we’ll be able to identify and fill whitespace which allows us to deliver on our purpose for more consumers. We view this cooperation as a strategic and mutually beneficial relationship. Together, we aim to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and bring innovative solutions to market with a growth-oriented mindset.”

To accommodate the addition to the company, Conaxess Trade are adding a full new team and Nordic business unit, active from 1st March 2025. They are taking on 22 former Viatris employees as well as additional resources including regulatory experts. The new unit will be organised as a pan-Nordic structure, led from Stockholm by the experienced business director Patrik Hene.
